Intermediate


This class is our most advanced class at the moment. Level 1 will included many of the elements from All Level classes. Students will have experience in yoga asanas (poses). And feel comfortable moving at a faster pace with steadiness and ease and breath in asanas including standing poses, balances, back bends, forward bends, hip openers, and twist. Inversions and some arm balances may be explored. Poses will be offered at a faster pace and include levels of Sun Salutations and Vinyasas (flows) in between poses will be offered.  



Basic Classes


This class is designed as an introduction to the practice of yoga. Class is slower paced than an all-levels class, and focused on developing clear and safe alignment in foundational poses.  You will learn warm-ups and the parts of Sun Salutations. You will learn a few standing poses to increase strength and balance. You will explore the movements of the spine with gentle releases. You will explore simple forward bends to clam the mind and release tension. Each pose will be offered in its basic form with modifications.  Variations for more complex forms are not offered, although advanced students who know variations are welcome to do them.  Each class will end with a relaxation pose.

All - Levels


All Levels classes may have Beginner to Intermediate students, and Advanced students seeking slower flow between poses. Class sequences will reflect who is there. Beginner students are invited to continue moving in and out of poses before holding, Intermediate to Advanced students may choose to hold poses longer. Pose names will be called out first, those who know them may go into them, step by step alignment will be given for those who are learning the poses. You will explore different levels of Sun Salutations. Standing poses will be linked together in a slow flowing sequence. Variations to deepen poses, Back Bends at different levels and Core Strengthening poses may be offered. Poses that included more twisting may also be offered to release tension in the spine, as well as calming forward bends and hip openers.  Longer relaxation and breathing practices for improving focus and relaxation will conclude the class.
